About us

VC Defensa is a coalition of local organizations dedicated to empowering the immigrant and refugee population of Ventura County. We are a purely volunteer-based organization comprised of working-class people around the county passionate about and dedicated to supporting each other. Whether it be through rapid response, patrolling our neighborhoods, sharing essential information with our neighbors, or providing medical and legal aid, VC Defensa will always be there. Though we do what we can, we are not heroes. We are of the communities we serve, providing support and resources so that the community can defend itself and lift itself up. We are always looking for more volunteers to build our movement and there is always a role to fill, no matter your time constraints or specialty. Fill out the form today and we will be in touch!

How it works

  1. We receive a call or text with suspected ICE activity in our communities.
  2. Our trained team of volunteers responds within minutes, collecting evidence of ICE activity, speaking to the community, and spreading awareness of our rights.
  3. Our dispatcher sends alerts to the community letting them know where ICE was seen.
  4. We build community with know your rights trainings, political education, direct outreach, and volunteer sessions.
